Why You Need a Travel Adapter Plug for International Travel

Travel Adapter 1

If you’re planning an international trip, you are guaranteed to need a travel adapter plug if you don’t already have one. Across the world, there are many different types of electrical wall outlets. Disclaimer: These do not convert electricity. (Thats a different gadget you will need if your devices do not have dual voltage or universal voltage capabilities.

An example of plug outlets around the world.

When we were planning our RTW trip, we needed to find an international travel adapter  that was affordable, light, and easy to pack. We picked the Kikkerland UL03-A Universal Travel Adapter because of its ability to meet these needs and its high user reviews. It’s also very affordable, at about $8.  Additionally, it meets the requirements for more than 150 countries.I love that it’s small, weightless, and packs flat in my accessory organizer.

So far, the Kikkerland has worked really well for us, and I wish I purchased more of them to charge multiple devices at once. You may want to buy at least two of them for your next international trip. It comes as two separate pieces that are easy to keep track of thanks to its bright orange accent color. It may take a few minutes to get used to plugging in your devices with it, but once you get the hang of it you won’t want to travel without it!

The only thing I would change about the Kikkerland is that sometimes it may be a little flimsy when placing it into an outlet if you’re using a heavier electrical cord. On the contrary, this may be the price you have to pay for the light-weight feature of it versus the hard-core bulky ones that rob you of storage space. It definitely hasn’t been a deal breaker for me, and works just fine even in less stable outlets. The Kikkerland is perfect for both the minimalist and not-so minimalist packer!
